For Episode 9 of the Coder Kids podast, we talked with Ultimate Immersion, a Minecraft creator who designs and makes beautiful and innovative mods that are out of this world! Who is Ultimate Immersion?
Ultimate Immersion is a Youtuber, and an awesome Minecraft Creator from Slovenia. His primary goal is to create the most realistic graphics as possible in Minecraft. (we think he’s doing great so far!) He’s been doing a lot of work with Minecraft over the past year. Ultimate Immersion creates new blocks and assets as well as re-texturing vanilla blocks in Minecraft. He has so many beautiful assests and you can check them all out here.
What Is Modding?
The “Vanilla” version of a game, is the way it comes to you after you purchase it. It’s the game, just the way the developers intended it to be. A “mod” is an addition or change to that, something that modifies the Vanilla version of the game. Some mods focus on changing the mechanics of the game, some on the assets of a game, and some focus on changing the appearance of the game. And some even do all three!
Staying Motivate and Overcoming Challenges
Ulitmate Immersion’s #1 rule for being successful and overcoming doubt and challenges is that you have to keep writing and keep creating. You need to keep producing content. You never know which one will help you break through! Ultimate Immersion has overcome lots of challenges while working with Minecraft. Because he’s creating such inovative and realistic mods within the confines of Minecrat, he had to find lots of work-arounds. The best way to do this was simple trial and error - and not giving up when it got tough!
Ultimate Immersion has a couple of motivating factors that help him keep going. First, he is curious and genuinely wants to learn even more about modding. Another really motivating factor for Ultimate Immersion is the support he gets from his fans. He doesn’t want to disappoint them. Their support and feedback help him sustain his drive to keep creating.
Ultimate Immersion’s Creative Process
Ultimate Immersion says his creative process is somewhat spontaneous. First he gets an idea. Then he looks up anything he kind find that is similar or related to his new idea. For each update, he tries to include something new, that is related to his other creations. For instance, first he made asphalt, then sidewalks and then added traffic signs.
Ultimate Immersion uses MC Creator to create his mods. He recommends this software especially for kids who are starting to mod. This software helps you create new, separate blocks for Minecraft. He focuses mostly on architecture, but you can create pretty much anything you want with it. You export the JarFile and upload it to Minecraft. Ultimate Immersion’s Plans for the Future
Ultimate Immersion is planning to continue his focus on architecture. He is also working on updating his website with EOS. He plans to keep working with Minecraft as long as he can and he has a few other plans in the works!
